Attendant Support Programs
DASSI
is a registered service provider for various programs and funding
bodies. If you are eligible you maybe able to have your attendant
support funded wholly or partially.
Department
of Human Services (DHS)
Eligibility
for DHS programs requires you to be a person aged between 6 and
64 years with an acquired brain injury, an intellectual or physical
disability, or a degenerative neurological condition who resides
in Victoria .

If

If
you are Deaf, hearing impaired or have complex communication needs

Respite
for Older Carers of a Child with a Disability Program
Eligibility
for this program requires you to reside in the Melbourne metropolitan
area and be an:
Elderly parent carer aged 60 years
and over who are receiving Carer Allowance and caring for their
son or daughter aged 25 years and over who is receiving the
Disability Support Pension; or
Elderly Indigenous parent carer
aged 50 years and over who are receiving Carer Allowance and
caring for their son or daughter aged 25 years and over who
is receiving the Disability Support Pension; or
Elderly Indigenous kinship carer
aged 50 years and over who are receiving Carer Allowance and
caring for a person under kinship arrangements who is aged 25
years and over who is receiving the Disability Support Pension.
In applying the definition of kinship being care provided to
a young person by an adult, it should be ensured that the carer
is older than the care recipient.

Victorian
WorkCover Authority (VWA)
If
you have a work-related injury or illness, you may be able to
receive compensation for attendant support from WorkCover.
You
can make a claim whether you are permanent or casual , full time
or part time , employed by the people where you work or by an
employment agency.

Slow
to Recover Program – Southern Health
To
be eligible for funding you must satisfy all the following criteria.
Medical:
Has a diagnosis of severe ABI in relation
to an acute health episode within the preceding two years
Has a current primary diagnosis of ABI
Is post-acute and medically stable or requiring
limited medical intervention
Age:
Is at least 5 years of age
Legal:
Is non-compensable
Has a legal guardian or advocate, if unable
to give informed consent
Social
circumstances:
Requires specific age-appropriate care
and support, including individual psycho-social and familial
assistance, which is not available through other programs.
Management:
Is not eligible for fast-stream rehabilitation
or considered eligible for community based rehabilitation.
Has been assessed as needing long-term
nursing care and/or eligible for Commonwealth-funded nursing
home services.
To
be eligible for funding for long-term maintenance services,
the client must:
Satisfy the above criteria and
Require clinical care or therapy in addition
to that normally available in a nursing home or other care
setting to maintain the level of independence gained through
slow-stream rehabilitation.

To
be eligible for funding you will need to be a person with complex
care needs associated with a disability including:
Children from birth to eighteen
years who live with their families, and adults up to 70, who
live alone, or with a carer who may be ageing, unwell or in
need of support. People who require help to co-ordinate the
services they need.
People who want to continue living
at home who reside within the municipality of Banyule , Whittlesea,
